Complete renovation of the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel with wedi 'Walk-in-shower' it’s pure 'Plug n' play'

At the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel, 122 out of 406 bathrooms have now been completely renovated, and the prestigious and extensive project continues. This is pioneering wet room technology from wedi for the world's largest hotel chain group.

What is wedi's largest hotel-related single project extends over a longer period of time, and the renovation is divided into three/four stages, as the task is so extensive. The work requires great care and new thinking, because essential elements of construction and interior design had to be changed, so that new wet rooms with a completely new vibe of well-being could be created at the beautiful hotel in the heart of Copenhagen.

Collaboration creates unique and valuable results

In close cooperation with the architectural firm Urban Agency and the client Bellagroup A/S as well as ATP-Ejendomme, wedi is the supplier.

From bathtub to 'walk-in shower'

The old bathtubs have become 'Walk-in showers'. It is not the easiest task; because when you remove a bathtub and want to build a shower base that is raised, it requires a drain outside the shower area. But with the specially adapted wedi Fundo Integro floor element, an overflow channel is integrated into the floor element/shower zone - a complete 'Plug n' Play' solution has been created.

The construction is categorized as a bathtub, and thus the wet room construction is approved.

The specially developed wedi Fundo Integro floor element with overflow channel is thus the turning point in the renovation, in combination with the design surfaces from wedi Top Line in the color 'white flake' on the floor and walls, which creates an exclusive and inviting look.

The wall panels in wedi Top Wall ‘white flake’ create an elegant and stylish atmosphere in the bathrooms, where the light reflects beautifully and creates a feeling of luxury. This helps to enhance the unique experience of being close to the water, even when you are indoors. At the same time, it gives a modern and timeless expression, which fits perfectly with the hotel's exclusive surroundings by the water. With this choice of material, the desire for cohesion with the water front has been fulfilled, and guests can enjoy a holistic experience where both architecture, design and location merge in harmony.

The Marriott project is innovative

The wet room renovation has already received international attention in and outside the industry. The first 122 bathrooms on the 9th, 10th and 11th floors are ready.
